Most Frequently Asked Questions

This is a very simple system. However, this is a fairly new development in the online world and likely new to you as well.

We understand that you still might have some questions.

Read below for answers to our most common questions...

What is a Publisher?
You are a Publisher the moment you place an ad on your video and publish it to the internet. Whenever you see or hear the

word Publisher, we're talking about you!

What will I be Publishing?

We are unlike most other video marketers out there that simply throw up a link on a video, usually resulting with an irrelevant promotion (like "make money online" on a Jay-Z video - ridiculous!). We match products to the videos so that clicking through is natural and the traffic is targeted to the product, making them much more likely to buy. We also ensure that the product is of a high calibre. If the product slips in quality or there are complaints and refunds, we find another similiar product.

What if my videos are copyrighted?

Some people express a concern about this issue. This is a very personal position, and subsequent decision for you to make. However, we can provide some additional information for you to consider. The reality is that if you are at the point of considering monetizing "copyrighted videos", then you've already broken copyright laws: 1) "unauthorized production" and 2) "unauthorized distribution". However, we understand that most people feel that making money off of copyrighted material is somehow more of an offense than the previously mention contraventions. We tend to think that copyright (patent, and even intellectual rights in general) laws have been grossly overstated and that the freedoms of creativity and ownership have been greatly infringed upon by these overaching "laws". The penalties in these cases for copyright infringement are normally nil. It usually simply results in a "demand" to take down the links. We have never even had this occur, however we cannot and will not make any guarantees on this issue. You are soley responsible for any consequences, however small and however unlikely. One final thought: if you wish to monetize your video, but are overly concerned about copyright laws, you could simply promote the subject of the video itself. We have great relationships with many of the major distributors (Amazon, Apple, Sony, Target, Sears, etc.) and we could promote the actual item itself. So, if it's a clip from "Saturday Night Fever" we would link to the DVD of Saturday NIght Fever; a video of Lady Gaga and we would link directly to the iTunes download page for that exact song. They couldn't be angered in any way if we're selling their product, right? Well, corporations are definitely not rational, so again there's not guarantee, but I would think any action against you in this case would be one in a hundred million. The bottom line however is, we apply abosolutely no pressure and if you're not comfortable in any way, just don't do it!

I have a valued community/subscriber base/following and I don't want to upset or disrespect them. Will I being doing that?

This is a point that we completely understand. One of the most important components, if not the most important, of your online venture is your community; the ones that follow your work and respect your word. We wouldn't even consider asking anyone to do anything contrary to the best interest of their subscribers. We believe that all of our products and services are of high quality and therefore we are simply suggesting that you offer a quality solution to your valued viewers and readers.

What exactly is Video Advertising and Video Ad Revenue?
"Video Advertising" is simply applying advertisements to your videos. As a Publisher you add links to drive traffic to the advertisers from your viewers, which in turn creates "Video Ad Revenue" for you through our pre-determined profit sharing agreement.

What is Profit Sharing?
"Profit Sharing" is, well, sharing profits. It is a percentage of sales. We determine in advance what your stake in the proceeds will be.

What percentage of sales can I expect to receive?
We normally start out at between 15-20% share of profits to our Publishers. Some of our "Power Publishers" can expect to make up to 30%. Occasionally we accept advertising campaigns from our advertising network for products or services that do not have a high conversion rate and/or are priced very low. In these cases we will often offer a higher percentage of the profits to compensate publishers for campaigns that are known to not produce large amounts of revenue.

What do I have to do to become a Publisher?
There are 6 steps. The first 3 are outlined in videos on the home page: Register, Submit, and approve our Offer. The next 3 steps are outlined in videos on the Setup page: add Link, add Annotation, receive Payment. If you really want to get the most out of your videos as a Publisher, see the 3 videos on the Advanced page for tips on how to grow and expand your exposure and reach: Duplicate, Create and Multiply.

How many advertisers are in your network(s)?

Thousands. That's why we can virtually guarantee a relevant and appropriate product or service for your video.

What if I don't like the adveriser (or their home page) that you've suggested?

Then ask for another! It is imperative that you feel comfortable with the advertiser. Further, you know your videos and the audience better than we do, so if you don't feel that the product/service, advertiser or their website is appropriate, tell us and we'll find another. Even better describe what you think would be optimal and we will do our best to find a match.

How and when do you pay out my share of profit?
We payout solely via Paypal. In very extenuating circumstances we may consider another form of payment. We make the payments every 7th day of the month, for the previous calendar month.

How do you track the traffic and sales?
At this time most of our tracking is handled by the individual vendors and/or the advertiser networks. This data can be accessed by us at any time, by logging into our back office at the respective sites. Unfortunately, due to the fact that we have sensitive data within those back offices, we are not able to provide login details.

How do I know you're telling the truth about traffic and sales and therefore my share of the profit?

We operate at the highest level of ethics and that will always be guaranteed. We want to create mutually beneficial and long-term relationships. This would not be possible if we were to be perceived as trimming profit shares or not paying them out at all, and we understand that. Further and from a self-serving perspective, we are more than happy to payout your share of the profit to ensure that the traffic and sales from your video(s) continue well into the future (In other words, trimming or not paying is actually not in our best interest). On a more practical note, we can provide screen shots verifying traffic and sales anytime you wish, however. In the near future, we hope to introduce a multi-user tracking system that will allow you to login and view your statistics on-demand.

What can I expect to make?

That's a very difficult question to answer. It depends on 1) how many videos you have monetized 2) how much traffic your videos get 3) how targeted the product or service is to the video and 4) how likely the viewship is to buy. You could make hundreds a month, or you could make nothing. You receive a percentage of profit, so if there are sales, you receive a payment (if there aren't you don't). However, if you have your videos monetized there is at least a chance that you could make money, and with some tweaking over time it is likely that you will, even with some of the most difficult videos and accounts.

What if my videos aren't making money?

There are a few reasons why a video might not be generating sales. First, the videos might have slumping view. In other words, even though they may have been viewed 5 million times in the past, that doesn't necessarily mean that people are currently viewing that video; sometimes waiting until the video becomes popular again is the only solution. Secondly, a "cousin" of the latter are new videos. Often they do not have enough traction to drive enough people to convert to sales over a short period of time; again, waiting until they catch on is often the only option. Time is an important factor for more than one reason. It can often take some time to allow the traffic to flow through, convert, and then you must wait until the 7th of the month for payment. This is not a "get rich quick scheme", but it can provide a solid and steady stream of income over time. Additionally, regarding time, we install non-malicious cookies on the computers of those that click on your link, so that if they return to the product or service, sometimes up to 365 days later, you'll receive credit. The other possibility is that we've misjudged the audience and matched the wrong product. In this case, we can swap in another high quality relevant product or service.

Which videos should I Publish an ad on?

Once you agree to our offer and receive a link to a relevant product, you can publish that link any time. If you have several videos in the same genre, It is up to you which and how many videos you publish. The more videos, the more revenue. This is for you to decide however.

Can I "quit" at any time?

Yes. Just pull down the links and let us know. If there is any money owing to you at that point we'll get your last payment out to you within 48 hours.
